I needed a company of La Sarre Grenadiers, and these Languedoc regulars stepped up. They exchanged their blue waistcoats for the red of La Sarre, and being true Continental Grenadiers, agreed to grow the requisite mustaches.
Here are the La Sarre Grenadiers marching onto the Plain of Abraham. Note the red and blue forage caps, too.
If I stay on schedule, the two companies of Regulars will join the Grenadiers this weekend.
Time for a reality check; to complete all the soldiers needed for the Battle of Quebec at Recruits in September, I have to varnish 30 figures a week for the next 3 weeks. With the major repaints complete now, it might just happen : )
They look a little too happy.
ReplyDeleteThe shootin' hasn't started, yet.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware the French had units with red coats. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey need longer "Moostachez". They look Freddy Mercury right now.
ReplyDeleteNot that there's anything wrong with that. . .

ReplyDeleteThanks, Adam. I can't wait for John to read my mind and make everything I want : )
